Pedal Prix

The UniSA Australian HPV Super Series is staged by Australian International Pedal Prix Inc. and is a competition where teams race Human Powered Vehicles (HPV's) on a closed controlled circuit.

The Woodend team ‘K-Pow’ comprises students from Years 5/6, boys and girls and they compete in three races a year. One race is held at Victoria Park Racecourse in Adelaide and two races are at ‘The Bend’, Tailem Bend. These take place on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

No prior skills are necessary as practises can be organised prior to races. Students are timed per lap so that they can track their personal best. Students will receive a Woodend racing top and cleats but will need to wear their own Woodend shorts, socks, shoes and bring their helmet and drink bottle.

Parents/carers are required to transport their child to the races and to support with the program egs. marshalling, timing, managing the racing schedule, assisting students entering and exiting the vehicle, helping with trainings. It is a family-oriented sport – an opportunity to connect with other Woodend families.

“Come and Try” sessions and expressions of interest to the Front Office at the beginning of the school year. Registrations open early Term 1.
